Who we are

Century Pools Northern NSW handles personal information collected through the Instant Pool Estimate service under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Century Pools Northern NSW uses this estimator to show guide prices and to receive enquiries. The estimator may be opened on this site or embedded on our website. Century Pools head office and other businesses in the Century Pools network may assist with the service.

Personal information we collect

When you send an enquiry we collect the name, email address, phone number and postcode you enter, and your suburb if you choose to provide it. We also collect any message you write, the installation timeframe if you select one, your consent, the pool design you built, and the priced estimate shown at that time.

If your browser provides them, we collect the address of the page that referred you and campaign parameters in the link, such as the source, medium and campaign. We process technical data, including your IP address, to run spam checks and to limit abusive traffic. We do not store your IP address with the enquiry.

This estimator does not set advertising cookies. If you open it on an agent website, that website may use its own tag manager, analytics and cookies. Those tools are controlled by that website.

Why we collect it

We use this information to respond to your enquiry, prepare and discuss a quote, follow up about your pool project, and keep a record of the design and estimate you sent. We also use it to understand how the estimator is used and to improve the service.

We collect it because you asked us to contact you about that estimate. We do not use it for an unrelated marketing list.

Who we disclose it to

We may disclose your enquiry to Century Pools head office and to other businesses in the Century Pools network where that is needed to respond, prepare a quote, install a pool, or operate this service.

We use service providers to host this service and to send email. Those providers handle personal information only so they can provide those services to us.

We do not sell personal information.

Overseas disclosure

Hosting, email and other cloud providers used to run this service may store or process personal information outside Australia. Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps so that the recipient handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Storage and security

Enquiry records are kept in a database. Access is limited to authorised people. The public site is served over an encrypted connection. Staff sign-in uses a hashed password and an authenticator app.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please take care when sending information over the internet.

How long we keep it

We keep an enquiry record in this service for 36 months from the date you send it, so we can respond, quote and follow up. After 36 months the record is deleted.

A copy may also sit in an email mailbox used to receive the enquiry. That mailbox is removed according to its own retention settings. Deletion from this service does not by itself remove a copy that was downloaded by a staff member before then.

Access and correction

You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable period.

If we refuse a request, we will tell you why, unless the law says we should not, and we will tell you how you can complain.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, contact us first and tell us what happened. We will look into the complaint and reply.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
